Stroke Rehabilitation Includes a dynamic process of assessment, goal setting and treatment focusing on improving sensory motor deficits, functional mobility and independence in their Activities of Daily Living and preventing other complications.

Hyper acute rehabilitation starts from coma stimulation to return to work. Most of our cases have been successfully rehabilitated in getting back to their previous occupation.

We at first neuro offer a comprehensive range of services to treat injuries and diseases that affect the spinal cord. The Rehabilitation teams provides the opportunity for regaining skills, tools and outlook to return to living independently. The goal is to foster productivity and full participation in social, vocational and recreational activities

Our therapists work in regaining the muscle strength, maintaining the flexibility , balance co ordination, endurance and the ability to perform the activities of daily living. We also provide assistance and recommendations for any possible home and tools modifications.

The Rehabilitation of peripheral neuropathies includes strengthening, improving sensory motor skills, teaching self care activities and patient safety issues. Splinting is also recommended in certain neuropathies

Our pain clinic runs along with a three tier team of Pain specialist, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, anaesthetists and physiotherapists treating various disorders

CRT is a broad term used to describe treatments that addresses a variety of cognitive issues which occur after brain injuries. Which includes memory, attention, social behaviour, safety judgement, and planning and carrying out future actions.

Our multidisciplinary team evaluates and treats children with limitations in function and disability. We focus on improving mobility, self care, language and communication, interaction with community and family life.

  • Pain modulating electrophysical agents
  • ADL room, the first in the region.
  • Resistance training with a multi gym
  • Balance retraining facilities
  • A treadmill with infrared sensory technology for efficient gait training.
  • Audiometer

Speech and language therapy impairments in adults can be caused due to brain injury or and other degenerative neurological disease .

Individuals can either have difficulty understanding speech (comprehension) or difficulty talking (expression) or can have both comprehension and expression deficits . Based on the assessment , suitable goals will be set allowing individuals to participate in communication /conversation with family members /society . (Stroke , Traumatic Brain Injury , other neurological disease )

Is caused by weakness of oro-motor structures leading to slurred speech with reduced intelligibility . Treatment will be focused on strengthening the oro-motor structures and improving the intelligibility of speech . (Stroke , Parkinson's disease , Facial Palsy and other neurological disease )

It is caused due to brain's inability to plan movements and send correct message to the muscle . Speech language Pathologist deals with verbal and oral apraxia by training the patient to plan and initiate the movement by providing appropriate strategies . ( It can be seen in stroke , head injury or any other neurological disease )

Swallowing is a complex neuro-muscular activity and is susceptible to problems as consequence of stroke , head injury, neurological diseases (Parkinson's) . It needs to be treated immediately if not will lead to aspiration pneumonia

It is given to eliminate or improve problems caused by weakness / infection to the vocal folds (voice box) . Voice problems can be noted in neurological disorders .

Is given to patient with cognitive deficits due to neurological /organic impairments

In neurological conditions such as brain injuries or stroke, the person loses many capabilities such as activities of daily living ,ability to work and live independently.

Occupational therapy or OT,helps to develop, recover and maintain the activities of daily living and work skills.

  • Remediation of the lost skills
  • Adapting the environment
  • Modification of the task
  • Educating the family /client in order to increase participation /performance of daily activities.
  • The assessment
  • Planning and providing the occupational therapy services

Main focus of the the therapy is to improve

  • a) The quality of performance / occupation (work , play , leisure)
  • b) Activities of daily living ( ADL)

The department is equipped with separate ADL Room to train patients in regaining activities of daily living, which involves Hand Function Retraining, ADL Retraining (Brushing / Grooming / Bathing / Dressing etc.), Neuro Developmental Intervention and Sensory Integration Intervention.

Neurological disorders can cause difficulty in using the hand and maintaining physical balance in day -to- day activities., It mainly focuses in developing the skills required to perform a particular occupation. These interventions include – Neuro Developmental Therapy (NDT) in children,Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation(PNF) approach to intervene the individuals with neurological deficits.

These assessment and Interventions are focused on the cognitive , perceptual, behavioral, social and communication aspect of the individual with Neurological or psychological disorders.

FALL is a common problem with elderly and people with neurological deficits . Falls can cause further injuries leading to more disability and incapacity.Occupational therapists help in the assessment, of fall risk .Treatment is focused on reducing the problems of the individual and environmental modification to prevent the incidences of fall.

Conditions focused:Elderly age group, Neurological disorders of any age group.

Any painful conditions can result in lack of mobility and capacity to perform day-to-day activities and works for both Chronic /Acute pain arising from Neurological deficits which are effectively treated by our team of Occupational, Physiotherapist, Physiatrists Neurologist and Pain specialists ( specialist anesthetists). The team work approach is very successful in treating the pain with improved mobility and ability to function normally.

The above treatment strategies are also used if a person’s work capacity is affected by stroke, neurological conditions and injuries.
